The Character of My Life

Amidst diapers, disinfectants, cleaning and cooking chores, online schooling, isolation, sadness, and pandemic lockdown, a need arose to connect with our fellow theater artists and our craft. We needed to talk and breathe theater again amidst all the bleach; thus, through late-night Zoom sessions, this conversation series was born—featuring admired and beloved Chilean actors and actresses, allowing us to get to know them better through the characters that have defined their lives.

Eight episodes, each 40 minutes long; eight interviewees. Hosted by creators Antonia Santa María and Álvaro Viguera from our own living room, we enjoyed theatrical anecdotes shared by Paola Volpato, Francisco Melo, Gloria Münchemeyer, Tomás Vidiella, Tamara Acosta, Cristián Campos, Francisca Walker, and Gabriel Cañas.

The dedication shown by the guest actors and actresses during that time of confinement and solitude—when we were so far removed from our craft—infused the program with honesty. These seasoned professionals fully committed to an open, daring, and uninhibited creative process. It was a deeply enriching experience for us, one that undoubtedly restored our connection to our work and brought us a measure of joy.
